PHOENIX – More than 2,500 Knights of Columbus and their families around the world, 80 bishops and cardinals, eight on 4 August at the opening of the mass Knight 127 High annual conference.

Bishop Thomas J. Phoenix Olmsted – Knight yourself – is the main celebrant at a few Masses, in which he praised the Father Michael McGivney, who founded the organization in 1882.

The bishop said that day was a feast of thanksgiving to God for the good work begun by Father McGivney.

Knights of Columbus are the largest church of 1.78 million members in 11 countries on three continents. In 2008, Ritter has contributed $ 150 million for various charities, in addition to the 68 million volunteer hours of their time.

During their meetings, seminars, and the Knights of the vote on a resolution for next year. But for many participants, this brotherhood of conventions, it is forced.

Ian Moore is one of the Knights of Columbus for the past 27 years in the Archdiocese of Kingston, Ontario, but he never accepted the Supreme Convention. This year it was on the Council of Delegates.

“It is logical knight everywhere,” he said in the assembly. “It only strengthens our fraternal whole case. This is an excellent point. ”

Moore at a meeting on 3 August in order to Canada, and made a formal report of its recommendations when it returns at the end of the week. He stated that the Convention is important, it brings the light of the excellent work of knights in the world.

“It makes you so proud to be a knight,” said Moore. “What we are doing odd jobs on the front is a huge influence.”

Jesuit Father Charles Connelly, lives in Boston, said that the work of the knights is huge, and it is difficult to understand.

“If you think that 1.7 million men who work in Catholic – you understand that when you are at the top convention,” he said about the Catholic Sunday, the newspaper of the Diocese of Phoenix.

After the Mass Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, the organization’s annual report, in which he has for reforming the health care system that is abortion.

“In the health care system to save lives, on the one hand, must not become a tool for life through abortion and euthanasia,” said Anderson.

He also promised the Knight initiative in ultrasound centers crisis pregnancy across the country.

“Up to 90 percent of women considering abortion to choose for their children when they saw a picture of the ultrasound,” said Anderson. “You’ve heard the heartbeat of their child, and baby in the head and hands. They know that their child is a child, not a choice. ”

During the conference, the Knights had to pass resolutions on issues such as abortion, marriage, human consciousness, pornography and violence.

If the vehicle is laden, power begins increasing around the Phoenix area, about 750 new employees to develop the network in one day on the country.

Following the announcement that ECOtality Inc. and its subsidiary Electric Transportation Engineering Corp. will receive $ 99.8 million in federal funding for the pulse of the electric vehicle infrastructure, in partnership with Nissan Motor Co., the local companies is limited to Time, for jobs and accommodation for services, “said Don Karner, president ETEC.

“This provision of the 5000-and the jobs that are part of Nissan initiative,” he said.

The agreement, announced Wednesday, Phoenix-based ETEC leading the charge to establish a network of charging stations in dozens of cities across the country, including Phoenix and Tucson.

Society in the past with the U. S. Department of Transportation projects on several charges, but later seek to obtain the largest infrastructure project to date in the United States, said Jonathan Read, president and CEO of Scottsdale-based ECOtality.

Some things have changed, including the promotion of the use of electric vehicles. Despite a record level of gas last year, the Obama administration, and efforts to find a replacement for alternative fuels.

ETEC announcement is part of 2.3 billion U.S. dollars grant for the recovery and reinvestment measures to strengthen the electric car company, investing in infrastructure and technology batteries. Karner said that attempts have been made in the past, have electric vehicles for mass markets, but this time it might take.

“The real difference is that today, Nissan has made a electrical machinery,” he said.

Truck, hand, made his debut on Saturday, and is responsible for production in late 2010. This all-electric based on the existing platform, Nissan, and may be more than 100 miles of the charge. Approximately 1000 of these cars are sent to Phoenix, and others in over 20 cities in 2012.

“In fact, we see electrical transport is used to accelerate very quickly,” said Karner.

Other manufacturers, including General Motors, or the introduction of all electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids, electric and gas engines. In the Chargers ETEC is the installation of all electric vehicles, “said Karner.

“We are not installing the infrastructure for the investigation of Nissan,” he says. “We will develop the collection infrastructure for America.”

From the outset, in infrastructure, said the estimated 1.5 million plug-in electric vehicles on the roads in May 2015 are low.
