Phoenix has more jobs in the last year in Detroit, after the new federal employment statistics.
These two cities are also the worst drop in the share of employment among the major metropolitan areas in March 2008 to March 2009.
In the metro Phoenix 136,000 jobs from March 2008 to March 2009, according to U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Detroit has lost 135,300 jobs during the same period. Both markets with a 7.1 per cent over the previous year decline in non-farm payroll, according to the BLS.
Phoenix area fourth worst job loss in March 2008, Los Angeles (221,000 jobs lost), New York (220,000 jobs lost) and Chicago (159,000 jobs lost).
