@dropsblood You should try playing one on one games with a friend instead. This is a much better way to apply what you have learn as there’s less pressure than playing with a larger group and will enable you to focus better on developing your individual skills like dribbling, driving and shooting while building up your confidence at the same time too. Once you are much more confident of your abilities, you can go back to group games again. Hope this piece of advice helps.

@dropsblood: Nobody becomes a really good player over-night. It takes a ton of practice and some time to develop your handles, your shot and all forms of footwork.. It will come, just stay with it and remember, it will take some time.

@ShotScience I guess the comment i send before the one you receive didn’t send. Well i need help into driving in the ball when there’s a defendant infront of me. I’ve been practicing my dribbling and got a little confidence on it but not fully(even though i crossed over my friend nasty, guess it was lucky). When the defendant is infront of me i don’t know what to do. If to drive it in or shoot it. I lose my confidence in dribbling the ball and i do stupid stuff! And to see if you could help me!!

@dropsblood: Well, the game can become heated when we play and that is a part of the game. After everyone cools off, you should be able to get back to your game.

@dropsblood: Well, driving to the rack is a vital part of every players game if they are going to excel. You have to force yourself to get there even when you do not think you can make it. Keep workin on it!

Like i dribble and when i see the defendant infront of me i lose my confidence in trying to get away or doing a cross over.(even though i did it to his teammate. very nast lol. i guess i got lucky). Like i don’t drive it in because i then don’t know what to do! What practice you think i should do to help me rush in the basket and lay it up!!PLEASE HELP

I practice what you thought on your video, but i cant seem to get near the basket coz of the defender (sometimes double team me). so i pass the ball then, call for the pass again to get an open shot. But i still want to sneak in using these basic skills, how could I improve them? or how to trick the defender using these basic dribbling?

@dropsblood games of 21 will help too. You can deal with double teams sometimes

@ednelxcore: It is very tough when you get double-teamed, however that means one of your team mates is open. To get better with you ball handling it takes some time and you need to “PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE some more. When you begin to feel confident then take it to the court. If you are concerned about getting past your defender see our video “Long-one-n-One Attack” and “Attack videos.” These will help you learn to beat the defender.

I try to use my finger pads only and not my palm when dribbling but I still lose control and the ball always gets away from me, am I doing it wrong or should I just keep practicing?
