@ChristiannaGarrett1 No problem.I can tell U that I should be able to hearing planes from where I am now but there’s nothing.They need investment in equipment to sort out snow situations.Same happened last year. Also think that here they’re very concerned about health&safety so if it’s there a minimum risk to get sued because U slipped on the ice and fell over, they will try to shut down schools, stations,etc just not to face the economical responsibilities so imagine when it comes to airports.

@nuttyteacher Thank you. Such a terrible birthday waiting when I realized he wasn’t coming! He was 14 hours on the plane. They just don’t want to spend the money on equipment to sort out the snow, but sureley if they did it would be saving in the long run?

@nuttyteacher Thanks. I’m watching SKY News now. CNN reported that it would be closed indefinately and I was kinda shocked. But we’ll have to wait and see. I’m just wondering why they reported this. It was quite a strong statement to get wrong.
@rizzlesizzledizzle exactly! it’s so dumb. It’s not snowing anymore since yesterday afternoon. They just can’t cop with a snowfall at all. Same as last year. Chaos. Come on it’s Xmas, we want to see the family, boyfriends etc! I’ve heard a plane like 20 minutes ago. Probably one of those to Sri Lanka but if your flight was next door then it’s cancelled…you just have to accept it! so frustrating.Good luck to your boyfriend.
My boyfriend has been diverted to Switzlerland, they managed to land there, a country where is snows all the time. It snowed, for just one day in london and it really wasn’t that much. It stopped in the afternoon. Same shit every year.
@ChristiannaGarrett1 Heathrow airport is kind of 95% shut down. They will operate very few flights, I guess the very long distance ones. I was supposed to fly today but all has been cancelled. The informations from the air companies and the airport were very contradictory but the truth is they have to clear the runways from snow and ice after yesterday’s big fall but they can’t do that with the planes sitting on them, so it will be hard work. I WANT TO SEE MY MOMMY,I WANT TO SEE MY MOMMY!!!!!!

@skybirdbird This is actually quite interesting! On he last 2 CNN News reports, they made a pointed reference to Heathrow being closed indefinitely. It was quite a sweeping statement. So now I’ve switched over to Sky News and they have not given this out at all. It’s reminding me of 9/11, when the news reader said the building had fallen, yet it was blatantly visible in the background shot. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
